These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and SECOND WIND LIMITED ("we," "us," or "our") for your access to and use of CleanRead AI, including our mobile application, related websites, backend services, document processing, text-to-speech, summaries, subscriptions, and support services.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using CleanRead AI, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use CleanRead AI.
1. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be able to form a binding agreement to use CleanRead AI. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under your account.
2. License to Use CleanRead AI
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use CleanRead AI for your personal, educational, or internal business use, subject to these Terms and applicable store rules. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
3. Your Content and Permissions
You may upload, paste, scan, link, or otherwise submit documents, images, text, URLs, notes, and other materials ("User Content") to CleanRead AI. You retain ownership of your User Content.
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, copy, process, transmit, display, transform, and create outputs from your User Content as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve CleanRead AI. This includes text extraction, OCR, summarization, segmentation, text-to-speech generation, playback, caching, and account synchronization.
You represent that you have all rights needed to submit and process your User Content through CleanRead AI. Do not submit confidential, regulated, infringing, illegal, or highly sensitive materials unless you have the right to do so and accept the risks of processing them through an online service.
4. AI Output and Study Materials
CleanRead AI may generate summaries, key points, extracted terms, audio, and other output using automated systems. Output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your specific purpose. You are responsible for reviewing output before relying on it.
CleanRead AI is a productivity and study tool. It is not a source of professional legal, medical, financial, academic, or safety advice.
5. Subscriptions, Add-ons, and Usage Limits
CleanRead AI may offer subscriptions, one-time add-ons, trial access, document processing limits, OCR limits, audio generation minutes, or other paid features. Specific prices, billing periods, included quotas, and renewal terms are shown in the app or applicable app store purchase flow before purchase.
- Payment is charged by the App Store, Google Play, or another authorized payment provider at purchase confirmation.
- Auto-renewing subscriptions renew unless canceled before the end of the current billing period according to the applicable store rules.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions through the store account used for purchase.
- Store policies control refunds, billing disputes, family sharing, trials, and cancellation timing unless we state otherwise in writing.
- Usage quotas, minutes, OCR credits, or add-ons may expire, reset, or be subject to fair use limits as described in the app.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use CleanRead AI for illegal, harmful, deceptive, abusive, or infringing activity.
- Upload or process content that violates rights of others or applicable law.
- Attempt to bypass subscriptions, quotas, rate limits, security controls, or access controls.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, copy, resell, or commercially exploit the service except as allowed by law.
- Interfere with the service, introduce malware, overload infrastructure, or probe for vulnerabilities.
- Use generated output to mislead others about authorship, facts, legal rights, or professional advice.
7. Third-Party Services and Stores
CleanRead AI may depend on third-party services for authentication, hosting, analytics, crash reporting, payment entitlement management, OCR, language processing, text-to-speech, and app distribution. Your use of app stores and third-party services may be governed by their own terms and policies.
8. Intellectual Property
CleanRead AI, including its software, design, trademarks, logos, service names, features, and related materials, is owned by SECOND WIND LIMITED or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our service except as these Terms allow.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information. By using CleanRead AI, you agree that we may process information as described in the CleanRead AI Privacy Policy.
10. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to CleanRead AI if you violate these Terms, create risk for the service or other users, fail to pay applicable fees, or if we are required to do so by law. You may stop using the service at any time. Termination does not automatically cancel store-managed subscriptions; you must cancel through the applicable store account.
11. Disclaimers
CleanRead AI is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and uninterrupted operation.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SECOND WIND LIMITED will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost content, business interruption, or loss of goodwill arising from or related to CleanRead AI or these Terms.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to CleanRead AI or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for CleanRead AI during the three months before the claim arose or USD 50.
13. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of CleanRead AI at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of CleanRead AI after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to conflict of law rules, unless applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.
